010_sense of travelling / 移動の間隔
デザインのまえにあるもの．デザインのうしろにあるもの．あるデザインの背景にある状況や，クライアントの思い，世界の見方．まだデザインされていない未踏の領域について考えること．あるいは，デザインがもたらしてくれたもの．思いもよらぬ偶然が導いてくれる線を辿りながら，デザインとその周りにある物事を知るための旅に出よう．これは，そういうデザインをめぐる旅のおすそ分け．
What have been before you designed. What might be after you designed. The situation behind a design, the thoughts of the client, and how to see the world. Thinking about unexplored areas that have not yet been designed. Or what the design has brought. While following the line led by an unexpected coincidence, embark on a journey to learn about design and the things around it. This project is a souvenir of such a kind of trip seeking what design is.

思いがけず異動することになった。13歳から住まいは転々としながらもホームタウンの広島で暮らしてきた身からすると，他の街で暮らすという事実を受け止めるにはずいぶん遠い記憶と感覚を呼び覚ます必要があった。広島の見慣れた，しかし飽きることのない水都の風景が自分の日常から離れていくことを想像したら少し寂しくもあるが，同じくらい新しい街が自分にどう語りかけてくるのかも楽しみで，今のところトレードオフな気分でいる。むしろ，長い旅に出る感覚に近く，楽しみの方が大きいかもしれない。もちろん，広島に拠点は残すという事実があるからかもしれないけれど。
同じ場所に暮らしていると，良くも悪くもドメスティックな感覚が纏わりついてくる。引っ越しを繰り返していた時に比べてモノは増えるし，暮らしの全てがスムーズに運ぶ。その分，その暮らし方を見つめ直すことや何かを切り替えることが難しい。そういう意味では，今回あらたに拠点をつくるのは，そんな慣れ親しんだ環境をリセットし，暮らしの実験をしてみるのにいい機会だと捉えている。
幸いなことに，移住先の高松市と広島は同じ瀬戸内海を共有しているから，水の風景は事欠かないだろう。北に海が開けた環境は幼少期に暮らした松江や出雲，父親の故郷の鳥取での風景を思い出させる。直島など島々へのアクセスも良い。
二拠点暮らし，移住，旅。移動している身体と精神の感覚。新しく借りる部屋を探しにいくために瀬戸内海を渡る電車の中でこの原稿を書いている。(M.N)
I was offered to transfer to the branch in Kagawa prefenture, unexpectedly. Since I was 13 years old, I have been living in my hometown, Hiroshima city, moving from place to place in the city. I feel a little sad when I imagine that the familiar but never-ending scenery of Hiroshima's aquatic city will be removed from my daily life, but I am also looking forward to seeing how this equally new city will speak to me. I feel like it's a trade-off. Rather, it is close to the feeling of going on a long journey, and it may be more fun. Of course, it may be because of the fact that I'm not going to leave Hiroshima entirely (I will keep my house in Hiroshima as well).
When you live in the same place, for better or for worse, a domestic feeling surrounds you. Compared to when I moved repeatedly, I have more things, and everything in my life goes smoothly. For that reason, it is difficult to reconsider the way of life or switch something. In that sense, I think that creating a new base this time is a good opportunity to reset such a familiar environment and experiment with living.
Fortunately, Takamatsu City, where I'm supposed to move to, and Hiroshima share the same Seto Inland Sea, so there will be no shortage of waterscapes. The environment where the sea opens to the north reminds me of the scenery of Matsue and Izumo, where I lived in my childhood, and my father's hometown, Tottori as well. Also, the city has a good access to islands such as Naoshima.
Living in two bases, moving, traveling. Sense of body and mind in motion. I am writing this article on a train crossing the Seto Inland Sea to find a new room to rent.
